The revolutionary material used for our eyewear is derived from castor-seed oil;  a superior, sustainable polyamide free from harmful chemicals.

With the planet and its people in mind, the castor seeds used to produce our bio-based plastics are sourced via the PRAGATI co-operative of small-holding farmers South Asia. 
  • Castor seeds are farmed in arid areas to combat deforestation
  • The farmers are trained to adopt sustainable farming practices to help them cultivate in an ecological way.
  • The PRAGATI scheme sees castor bean farming provide fair and steady incomes for more than 4,500 smallholding farms

    The felt pouches provided to protect your ECOREADERS® frames are made using recycled post-consumer waste plastic (r-PET).

    • Collected from discarded landfill and sea plastics including those from plastic bottles, polyester material offcuts and plastic food packaging
    • Refined back into its original chemical components, the resulting material is pure and premium quality
